A much better day, still cold but no snow and a little sun.

A 'snow day' for me, the campus is closed so they can clear car parks and paths ready for Monday, quite pleased really as without a 4WD the lane is just a little scary......
Went for a very chilly walk down to the reservoir, I could hear the Buzzard calling but couldn't see it and apart from a surprised fox and a wren I saw no wildlife at all, lots of tracks though.

And these lovely seedheads wrapped in snow.

Tuesday 10th April

Sunshine after the washout Bank Holiday, walked my usual route a lot has changed, many trees cut back on the Le Court lane, massive houses built on the site of the old Cheshire home.

I think these are Common Dog Violets.

A lovely Bluebell just about to open at the bottom of the newly coppiced wood.

leaf buds about to burst open.

Blackthorn blossom.

Seedheads left from last summer, they are about 2m high but I am not sure if they are Hogweed, Angelica or possibly Hemlock or Fennel...I must pay attention when the leaves are on it!

Monday 6th february

Still snow on the ground but at least the lane has been ploughed and gritted. Some of the plants were a little advanced and have suffered in the snow and frost.

Such delicate flowers I don't know how they keep clear of the snow.

hadn't realised how hairy a magnolia bud is.

The frost got this camellia which should be pink, it is still attractive though.

I had a new lens for Christmas, and a frosty spell is a good time to play.

Unusual to have a Fuschia in bloom in January.

Not sure if this is Angelica but love its starry look.

Alresford Agricultural Show

Had a lovely morning at the show, lots to see, everyman and his dog was there(in fact every dog and his man more like).

This owl kindly posed, all the other birds of prey annoyingly turned their backs.

The dogs queueing for their treats at the hungry hector stand.

And the latest in hair fashions modelled by the duck and Alpacas.
